Enjoyed Location, Disappointed in Condo
What could be an adorable little condo was a non-smoker’s nightmare. While there is no smoking in the condo itself, there was continuous smoke from surrounding condos. Jack was easy to contact and made the check-in process smooth. Having said that, the condo was not clean, was outdated, and had far too much stuff (mostly junk) in it. We spent the first week deep cleaning. We then contacted Jack, who arranged for the carpets to be cleaned and he removed quite a bit of the junk. We washed the dishes, towels, and linen that we thought we’d use, and never touched the rest of the stuff. The condo desperately needs new carpeting, curtains, and a paint job. Other than the condition of the condo, we enjoyed the building and the residents. The pool is wonderful,. We were invited to play pickle ball each morning., and the residents were happy to teach us. There are a variety of activities for folks to enjoy. The appliances were all fairly new and in good working condition. The bed was also comfortable. Unfortunately, there was no screen door to the lanai, so we were unable to open the doors for fresh air, which made it worse for the third-hand smoke. On a positive note, the sunrises out the living room window is spectacular! There was a lot of construction going on out back, which went on all day and night. We knew that had nothing to do with the condo, but it will be quite a while before it is done. The location is great. It is just off Tamiami Trail, the main road, where you can find anything and everything you want. If it wasn’t for the construction, it is a short walk to two hospitals, the Cultural Center, the shopping mall, and a gym. It is also a short drive to Punta Gorda, which has a fantastic Harbor walk, shops, restaurants, etc. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Port Charlotte, but spent as little time as possible inside the condo.
Central in Port Charlotte. Nice pool and people were very nice. Jack was available and accommodating.
This condo is in much needed updating, repair, and replacements. The walls all need to be patched and painted. Carpeting was filthy with stains, even the bedroom area rug had a blood stain, the bathroom throw rugs had not been washed. The couch is so bad, you can’t even sit on it without sinking all the way down, same for patio chairs. The rattan chairs were rickety. The ceiling in the bathroom had parts that had leakage from the upstairs condo. Some of the doors were broken and splintered. We didn’t have power for over 30 hours because of updating and no prior notice before checking in or compensation. The kitchen cabinets had little snippets of Velcro or magnets to keep them closed, which didn’t work. There was a bad odor from the facets. The sheets on the bed were bleached out in spots, the pillows were horrible. Furniture was only dusted at eye level and it did not appear that the floors had been mopped. When we complained to the property manager, he did nothing to make it any better. His comment was, “ the appliances work, don’t they?” Yes they did, but that wasn’t the point.
A HAPPY PLACE
This sm 1 bd. rm condo was just right. everything was supplied, to make this a happy place while your away from hm. My husband and I are OTR truckers and we were in the area to pull loads for Walmart DC in Arcadia FL ,thats next to PC FL. It was soooo relaxing to be able to get out of the confines of a small sleeper birth and walk around an apt. with access to a shower and a full bthrm. If you've ever been an OTR driver than you can relate. This Place was like home for us in ever sense of the words. And the manager JACK was the KOOLEST KID ON THE PLANET, NO JOKE. THIS PLACE IS RATED 10+ IN MY OPINION.If you lease this unit you,ll be happy. It is a true HAPPY PLACE.
Very clean and comfortable.
We totally enjoyed our stay. The owner, Jack, could not have been more accommodating. The condo was very clean and well furnished. It could use some updating.
