About this property

The Acorn House cottage is located approximately one hour north of San Francisco on scenic Highway 12 in Kenwood. It is a peaceful retreat on four private acres. Your hosts, Bev and Jerry Stemach, invite you to turn down their country lane, and indulge yourself in this charming vacation rental nestled among ancient oaks and grapevines in the heart of the Sonoma wine valley.

Acorn Cottage is generously appointed: shelves of books and movies, private hot tub and patio, and a bottle of petit verdot made from grapes grown on our property. If you are inclined to explore, an array of exciting activities are minutes away: hiking in mountains or along coastal beaches, golfing on nearby courses, dining in restaurants in Kenwood, Glen Ellen, and Sonoma, and wine tasting through Sonoma County's 13 viticulture regions. Napa Valley is just over the hill.

Best rental I've stayed at in my life

Amazing property with extremely gracious and generous hosts. Quiet, clean, private hot tub for a reasonable price. Will definitely stay there again 😃

Fabulous Stay at the Acorn House!

Count yourself lucky to be able to stay at this private, vineyard cottage in the best part of Sonoma wine country. Kenwood has its own stunning vineyard estates nearby and is an easy drive to Sonoma town center as well as within easy range to the Russian River Valley, Napa, the Pacific coast, and more. Bev and Jerry are the most gracious hosts; inviting us for wine and accompaniments in their private cellar for great conversation as well as area recommendations. Those being where to go for tastings and other adventures such as the Armstrong Redwoods and the Jack London estate. They even provided us with a great packing box for travelling back with our wine; and we filled it :-) The property itself is basically your own private vineyard "Acorn Cottage" with wildlife, on beautifully landscaped grounds. A very unique setting. Looking forward to a return stay. Thank you Bev and Jerry.

Sonoma Getaway

This is more of an experience than a rental property. Acorn Cottage was accurately described and the perfect size and privacy for two. There a several Sonoma wineries within 5-10 minutes and Napa Valley a nice 35 minute drive through the mountains. Jerry and Bev were great host and we look forward to coming back.

Fantastic Memorial Day weekend

We had a fantastic stay at the acorn house. The place is beautiful and immaculate. The grounds were gorgeous and we used the awesome hot tub day and night. By far the best VRBO I’ve stayed. Bev and Gerry we amazing hosts as well. We’ll be back!

Jerry and Bev Stemach are life-long residents of Northern California. They have lived in wine country for 40 years and have hosted guests for 20 years. They farm petit verdot grapes under the Sonoma Valley appellation. Petit verdot is a Bordeaux varietal often used as a blending grape. When it comes to winery and restaurant recommendations, guests consistently describe Jerry and Bev as "spot on".
