A Hilton Head vacation is all about relaxing, reveling in the glorious surroundings, and relishing time with friends and family. Pet-friendly 5403 Treetops makes it easy to do all of that. Not only is the two-bedroom, two-story villa restful and filled with plenty of conveniences, but it’s also in a beautifully landscaped condo complex with a pool and just a 10-minute walk to the beach and the Atlantic Ocean.

Decorated in serene neutrals, the living/dining area of 5403 Treetops encourages you to kick off your shoes, stretch out, and relax. The seating is so comfortable—just what you want to sink into after biking the island’s miles of trails. Whether you opt to watch TV, surf the web via the free WiFi, sprawl out on the carpet with the kids for a game of Yahtzee, or indulge in a nap, you’ll feel right at home.

The dining area seats four, though you might prefer to eat on your private patio. The salt-laced ocean breeze rustling through the fronds of the lush palmetto palm trees transforms any meal into a feast. And if it’s a true feast you want, 5403 Treetops’ kitchen is up to the task. It’s equipped with a full complement of appliances, cookware, and tableware. There’s a dishwasher too because when the beach is only a stroll away, nobody wants to waste time on chores. For the same reason, the villa has its own private washer and dryer just off the kitchen. Who wants to cook on vacation? Luckily, there are plenty of restaurants just beyond your front door. (Make sure to have at least one meal at Kenny B’s French Quarter Café; you can even walk there from the villa!)

The two bedrooms are upstairs. The primary bedroom features a king-size bed, while the 2nd bedroom includes two twin beds. Each room includes a flat-screen TV with cable and access to a balcony. Step outside to marvel at the star-studded sky before nestling under the covers, or slip out before the others are awake to listen to the early-morning birdsong. Just as important, each bedroom has its own bathroom with a combination shower/tub. You can rev yourself up with a brisk morning shower, then relax after a day of golf, tennis, or sailing with a long, restorative bath—without a line forming on the other side of the door. For added convenience, 5403 Treetops also has a half-bath on the lower level.

As inviting as 5403 Treetops is, you don’t come to Hilton Head to spend most of your time indoors. The complex’s outdoor pool is ideal for days when the ocean is a bit too chilly or too rough for swimming—or for any other sunny day. When you’re not in the pool you can laze poolside on a chaise or at one of the poolside tables. There are community grills too if you want to barbecue some burgers or kabobs after your swim.

The convenient location means you can walk or bike to Coligny or South Forest Beach in minutes. At least once during your stay, you should wake up early enough to catch the sun rising over the Atlantic Ocean; it’s a sight you’ll long remember. When you’re not watching dolphins frolic in the surf and seabirds swoop across the sky you can swim, parasail, canoe, kayak, paddleboard, race jet skis, or search for shells in the sugary sand. Nearly as close by are numerous golf courses (you can drive to Shipyard Golf Club in less than 10 minutes) and tennis courts (Van Der Meer Shipyard Racquet Club is also less than 10 minutes away).

Good visit
We had a couple of problems with a water leak and internet outage. Both were handled very quickly with the property manager and office. Our messages were returned within minutes and the problems resolved in a short time. The follow-up was great and made our stay better. The assistance and communication could not have better. The rental was confortable and had what we needed. It was a little dated and could use a little upgrade.Overall we were happy with our stay, and would rent again. It is located about four tenths of a mile from the beach and a 15 minute walk.

Not what it seems to be.
1st, the property has moisture problems. It has a musty moldy smell that would not go away. Made my wife cough during the entire stay. 2nd, the unit is less than 75 ft from the road, Coligny Pkwy, a very busy road. Noise disturbed our sleep for the whole visit. 3rd, AC did not adequately cool the bedrooms upstairs, very uncomfortable. 4th, Downstairs patio was a mess. It didn't appear to have been cleaned in a long time. Also, the electric grill on the patio did not work. The patio drainage along with an apparent moisture leak at the ceiling on the window wall of the dining area potentially are the source of the moldy smell 5th, Mattress on the primary bedroom is worn out, needs to be replaced. 6th, There are no exhaust vents in the primary bathroom or the downstairs half bath. 7th, The walking distance to the beach is well over the 10 minutes described in another review of this property. It's closer to double that time. 8th, Inadequate parking, had to search for places to park way too often 9th, Blinds in corner window of living room are trash. Had to improvise a bedsheet over the window to have some privacy. 10th, Door to primary bathroom could not be closed an latched. Did not fit the door frame. In general, other than the downstairs tile floors, the property was tired in need of repairs and updates. We should have contacted property management to complain and ask for a partial refund.

Don’t hold your breath.
Did nothing but kill bugs, big cockroaches and spiders, and find broken things through out the property. Was notified that it was recently renovated but I’m not sure what was renovated. Master bathtub does not drain, AC flow does not reach second floor of unit so you have to have it set to a ridiculously cold temp to cool off upstairs while your sleeping. Again bugs everywhere. Don’t expect anything to be delivered to you as no one can find the unit due to lack of signage. Had to walk the property upon arrival to find our unit and then base parking off of that. Make sure you are out of the unit at exactly 10:00. The codes were changed on me this morning as we were checking out and by 10:02 I could not get in to make sure I had gotten everything. I’ve never been so disappointed in a trip. No communication with host, VTrips, or anybody that works the property. Construction was going on in the unit above us so no quite time. Picking up paperwork that included parking passes was not communicated very well either. Paperwork was just left outside office in a box with my name on it. Anyone could have looked at the codes for our property. So disappointed do not waste your time.
