About this property

The Ocean Perch, what a view! An easy stroll and your toes are in the sand!

Welcome to Sand Hill Cove. Put your worries behind you and get ready for the sun and surf of New England's favorite beach destination!

We are looking forward to opening our beach home to another season of fun and relaxation for our guests. This sea-side get away is located on a quiet cul-de-sac, about a 5 minute stroll to family friendly Roger Wheeler beach. It has everything you and your family or friends will need to enjoy your stay.

Our beach house has a new mini-split AC system installed in 2023. The fully furnished kitchen includes all the large and small appliances you'd expect at a vacation home. There is an ample variety of cookware including a lobster pot, and enough place settings to accommodate a large group. The house also comes equipped with a washer and dryer. The private back deck has plenty of seating and a large outdoor gas grill for when you're in the mood to dine alfresco, and the front deck is a great place for late afternoon drinks as you watch the sun set on another perfect day.

The house has 4 bedrooms, a private sitting room with a futon sleeper, and a pull out sleep sofa in the living room (an additionall twin cot is also available). All beds include fully encased mattresses . Don't want to bring sheets and linens? No worries. Complimentary bed linens and towels are provided so you do less packing!

One of our favorite features of the house is the Ocean Perch, an observation turret (a favorite get away for the kids!). A set of circular stairs lead you up to a quiet first level with stained glass windows for reading or casual relaxation, and continues up to the bright and open observation level with lots of windows opening up to ocean breezes and a 180 degree view of the Atlantic Ocean, from Galilee to Block Island (it's a great place to enjoy a rousing game of backgammon or cribbage, or for reading the paper with a nice cup of coffee or tea).

Your vacation getaway comes complete with a variety of items to help you enjoy a sunny day at the beach (our storage locker has beach chairs, umbrellas, cart, boogie boards, sand toys), or even a rare rainy day (a selection of board games, books, video's, and a ping pong table in the basement). All you need to do is pack your bathing suit, a toothbrush, suntan lotion and a smile!

Selected by Boston Globe readers in 2018 as the Best Beach Town in New England, Narragansett continues to offer a wide range of indoor and outdoor activities. The nearby beaches are among the best to be found, with a diverse offering of choices there's truly something for everyone. So whether you prefer wading in the gentle tide at quiet kid friendly Roger Wheeler Beach, boogie boarding the surf of Scarborough or Narragansett Town beach, or exploring the rugged coastline and watching surfers near the Point Judith lighthouse, you are literally just minutes away from your favorite shoreline destination.

Whatever your pleasure, let our little piece of paradise be the launching point for your next vacation and a lifetime of memories!

Stay near the beach
We really enjoyed the proximity to the beach! The two decks were lovely -- wonderful for early morning coffee and afternoon dinner on the back deck. Kids enjoyed playing games and sitting up in the turret.

I grew up in Rhode Island, and in my youth, my friends and I used to ride our bikes down to the Narragansett shore during the summers. I always loved the area. I went off to college out of state, where I met my wife and brought her to Narragansett for our first date. Ever since it's been a special place for us. Flash forward 30 years and we've settled down and raised a family in Connecticut.... but I always kept in touch with my Rhode Island roots and came to Narragansett frequently. My wife now loves this area of the state as much as I do. I used to tease her that I'd make her an Ocean Stater yet....And now she's happy to own a little piece of the Biggest Little State in the Union!

Why they chose this property

Our family has rented in SandHill Cove over the years and we loved this particular neighborhood because it was a safe and quiet street with an easy walk to the beach, and conveniently located to all the places we love to go in the area. We had walked past this particular house over the years and thought, "what an interesting house", and wondered what it was like inside. Although we frequently discussed owning a home in the area, we never dreamed we'd find something in this neighborhood, leave yet a house we had admired. When it came on the market, it didn't take long for us to take the plunge. It was kismet!

What makes this property unique

Aside from the benefit of it's proximity to the beach, the house has a nice private yard that's perched above the neighborhood, allowing for a nice cross breeze on sunny afternoons. The main living area is all on one level, making it easy for both young children and grandparents alike. The house also has two comfortable decks and an outdoor shower.

The property's signature turret provides a great view of block Island, the ocean and the boats coming and going out of Galilee. It's a favorite hideaway for kids, but also a great place for some early morning relaxation for adults. The open floor-plan in the main living area is great for entertaining or just hanging out and continuing to unwind after a day at the beach.
