About this property

Stunning, upscale on North Shore

Imagine waking up every morning to the sound of the surf and the sight of Prince Edward Island’s North Shore. There is nothing between you and the ocean but nature and sunshine. Fourteen hundred square feet of outside decking compliments twenty-five hundred square feet of lovingly furnished coastal living. Our unique two storey beach house is located in a gated community on a private cul-de-sac. The panoramic tree top views from two wrap around decks showcase the shoreline, the dunes, a spectacular pond and two lighthouses.

Our beautiful family friendly home was constructed for multi family or couples use with four bedrooms and four washrooms. The first level allows for independent living with a kitchenette, fridge, entertainment area, dining table, and access to the large lower deck with its own barbecue. There is a king sized master ensuite, with double vessel sinks. Our second bedroom has a queen sized bed. We have a full family bathroom, and third bedroom with double bunk beds. There is a single trundle under the bunk beds. For your little ones, we have a new Pack 'n' Play and convertible high chair as well.

Upstairs, you will find a spacious fully equipped chef’s kitchen with granite counter tops, wine and beverage fridge, walk in pantry, all new stainless steel appliances, and large island with second sink. The main living room features vaulted ceilings with a modern linear propane fireplace, large screen TV, and comfortable sectional couch with queen sized pull out bed. The king sized master ensuite includes double glass vessel sinks, a beautiful soaker tub and large rainforest shower. You have a private walk out to the deck from the master bedroom. Enjoy sunsets from the expansive deck or The Snug, a cosy screened sunroom beside the kitchen.
We have installed high efficiency heat pumps throughout our home for heat or air conditioning, as well as ceiling fans in every bedroom.

Outside, take advantage of the fire pit, lobster boiler and picnic table.
You will find everything you need for a day at the beach in the shed. We have portable folding chairs, a wagon, a tent beach shelter, and lots of beach toys. After your beach adventures, the outdoor shower makes it easy to clean away the sand.

A short walk leads you to one of the true gems of the North Shore - Thunder Cove Beach. Walk for miles along the pristine sand and enjoy nature’s sandstone art gallery. Thunder Cove is the western gateway to the North Shore with its world famous seafood, numerous golf courses, charming harbours and National Park. Ocean based activities, such as kayaking, and deep sea fishing are nearby. All of these attractions are within a half hour’s drive. There are scenic provincial parks to explore as well. Malpeque Harbour with its famous oysters is just a fifteen minute drive from our house. We are less than an hour to Charlottetown and the International Airport.
The shoulder season months of spring and fall bring their own magic to Orion’s Porch. Birders will delight in sighting the numerous migrating and resident bird species, including bald eagles, ospreys, water fowl, song birds and roosting herons. (In one week period in May an amateur ornithologist identified over 45 species!) In June, PEI Tourism showcases the Festival of Small Halls, with concerts available in many nearby venues.
Throughout the season there are excellent summer theatre productions, music festivals, art and craft shows, and markets. In September the Fall Flavours Food Festival is not to be missed! Shellfish Festival is in September too.
With minimal light pollution, the night sky puts on a breathtaking display. Watching the stars appear after sunset is one of our favourite activities. The constellation Orion can be hard to see during the summer months. We like to think that Orion comes down from his place in the sky and enjoys the spectacular view from our deck. Come and pull up a chair on Orion’s porch and create your own family memories.

We were so happy with our rental. We are a family of 11 adults and it was a perfect getaway to be together for a few days.

ORION'S PORCH
A brand new house, great design with living quarters upstairs. VERY fully equipped - even including a wine fridge! and vacuum cleaners on both levels. Great open living space on the upper level. Great beds, everything chosen with perfect taste. Dazzling en-suite bathrooms. Gas fire upstairs, electric fire downstairs which is virtually a self-contained apartment. Superb beach, although access is not straightforward. Faces due north with perfect sunrises & sunsets off the upper deck, with sunsets to be viewed from the SNUG, a delightful room on the west side of the house. We were there for seven weeks and had perfect weather for 40 of the 49 days.

Outstanding Vacation Home
This house is truly spectacular! Every detail about the house was carefully planned and makes for the most enjoyable vacation. The beds are incredibly comfortable. Very scenic area with spectacular views all around. By far the best VRBO home we have ever stayed in! We will be back, next time in the summer though.

Stunning home & an Amazing location
We just had the most Amazing, Memorable stay in PEI and our rental home was Stunning!!! The home was beautifully decorated, the thought and Love that went into this home showed in every room. There was everything you needed to make your vacation authentic, from the outdoor lobster pot to cook your fresh lobster, wrap around porch with Adirondack chairs to look out at the ocean or watch the sun rises or sunsets, the beach themed snug to relax in, basket of beach towels, bucket of flip flops, a book with maps, food, tourist attraction suggestions & a detailed list of how to work everything in the home and so much more...... I highly recommend this rental home for your vacation, you won't be disappointed.

Luxury cottage with an incredible view.
The drive to the cottage was simple. A quick ride from the Charlottetown airport. The cottage itself is absolutely gorgeous. It's a new build, everything from the small details in the bedrooms to the expansive kitchen were perfect. Everyone in the family had more than enough space in the rooms and the wrap around deck provides plenty of space to relax. The bathrooms are large with upscale appliances. Beds were comfortable with large windows, or sliding doors to access the deck. The kitchen features granite and stainless steel appliances with an open concept. The kitchen holds everything you need with a large pantry and wine fridge. All of the furnishings are from local shops and has a very 'east coast feel'. We loved the bright red island in the kitchen as well as the massive dining table that fit the whole family. There is a breakfast bar for the kids too. From the deck...the VIEW. Watching the sun set with a drink was one of the highlights of the trip. The upper deck overlooks the beach with classic P.E.I lighthouses in the distance. There are lots of places to relax, Muskoka chairs, tables and even a screened in room if you want to sit inside...outside! We spent the majority of the evenings sitting outside looking at the stars. The cottage also has multiple TVs with cable, as well as fast internet. I was surprised at how quick the internet was on the east coast. There is also a Bose speaker to hook your music up to. There is laundry on the first floor and an area for the kids to have some space - eat, watch TV etc. There is also a fire pit and a lobster pot outside for cooking seafood. The beach itself was perfect. Not busy at all and a quick walk from the cottage, only a few minutes away. The beach was clean and has powered sand. Lots of space to set up for the day and have the kids run around. The cottage is also located right in front of 'teacup' rock, one of P.E.I's famous items for sight seeing. Towels and sandals are provided for the beach and there is an outdoor shower to wash away sand. The cottage is a quick drive to Kensington - groceries and awesome restaurants. Definitely check out Kensington pub. It's very easy to get around P.E.I, so day trips to Anne of Green Gables and beaches are simple. There is also a information book made by the owners in the coffee table that give details on the cottage and surrounding areas. Nice touch. I will definitely be returning next summer. By far the best place I've stay at in P.E.I.
