About Laurie Walz
Kimo and I met and got married 33 years ago in Oahu. We have two grown children. Our son lives in Los Angeles, and our daughter and son-in-law live on Oahu. We are both ordained ministers, Kimo is a professor at a Christian University, where he teaches business. We both enjoy spending time at the beach and love the laid back atmosphere in Kihei. We hope you enjoy your stay in our condo and discover many fun places to visit while you are there.
Laurie Walz purchased this Condo in 2018
Why Laurie Walz chose Kihei
We stayed at Maui Vista while we were in Maui and felt very comfortable with the accommodations and were impressed by how beautiful and well-kept the grounds were. The fact that it is just steps from such a beautiful beach is also a plus!
What makes this Condo unique
When we walked into the condo to take a look at it for the first time, we were impressed by how cool it felt compared to others. There was a nice breeze flowing through the windows, which made it comfortable even when the air conditioner was not on. We loved the way the condo was furnished, and loved the way it had recently been remodeled. It had that great balance of feeling like home but was tropical enough to also feel like we were on vacation.

Great location, everything right there in the condo, super clean, easy parking, air conditioning works great. Would definitely recommend staying here!! A++++ rating
We loved this property. The location was fantastic and Laurie had all of the amenities that we could ask for. We grilled, used the pool and loved the beach. Tons of swimming with turtles - it was like a turtle highway! Overall, the value of this stay was way more than the cost. We had nothing but a great vacation and hope to make it back again!
Great stay for 4 people, not for 5
We had a great stay! One thing we wish we would have known, is there was not a futon! There was a three cushion pad that we had to lay on the floor for our fifth person. Had we known that, we probably would not have stayed here. That aside, everything was great! They had everything you could want for the beach- plenty of beach chairs, a large umbrella, a cooler, sand toys, boogie boards, snorkeling gear, etc. Very easy access to the beach. Thanks for welcoming us into your home!
Great beach home base
Nice one-bedroom condo with kitchen and sofa bed. Was a great base for our family week, including a closet full of beach supplies and a short walk to a great beach across the street. Beautiful view of ocean and Kahoolawe. Pool right down below for cool-off, convenient barbecue facility. Easy to find, ample parking, close to shops and restaurants. Comfy seating in living room and on the Lanai is a bit limited, but it's a small condo.
A little slice of Maui
Excellent location, close to the beach and several Triple D dining experiences. We checked in after hours, security was prompt and very polite. We would stay here again without hesitation.
Excellent location, plenty of amenities, great place to stay.
Within walking distance there are many restaurants, touristy shopping areas, and of course gorgeous beaches. Further away we recommend using the Shaka Maui app, which you can download on your cell phone. This allows the user to purchase a audio tour of either the Road to Hana or the trip to the top of Haleakala. If you are planning to do the Road to Hana, leave early and make sure you bring a cell phone car charger. Take advantage of the short hikes to waterfalls, and plan on spending a couple hours at the end at the Seven Sacred Pools. Make sure to bring your swim suit and towel! Don't miss the lava tubes along the way.
We also recommend checking out the Lavender Farm, which you can go to on the way back from Haleakala. If you want to eat lunch there, be sure to call ahead for a reservation.
