La Bergere - our ideal "Home away from home" for 26 days in October!
Clean, cosy, comfortable, charming....
There is a lovely warmth about this place - radiating not only from the easy- to- manage wood stove in the passage and the various electric heaters ( which we seldom found necessary to use), but also from our very kind and caring host and hostess, Remy & Isabelle!
The gite is well-equipped and totally functional : cooking facilities, kitchen ware, super shower , top quality beds and linen, TV etc...
We adored the tranquil atmosphere, with the occasional noises made by the animals on the farm.
The gite is situated in beautiful surroundings ....country roads running through forests and neighbouring villages, alongside fields and the channel.Tourist attractions like Vezelay and chateaux like Bazoche are easily accessible from Brosses.
Avallon, a lovely town 19 km away, offers businesses, super markets, petrol station etc.
A visit to a country market in the towns around the area makes for an interesting morning.
When the hooter sounds at about 9 in the morning, it means that a mobile bakery has arrived with lovely baguettes, apple pies etc...what a delight!
May future visitors to La Bergere also enjoy it like we did.
