Sleeps 17 Great home close to the Lake, Ski Resorts, Family friendly, quiet area
Why owner/property manager chose Tahoe Vista
Love the neighborhood!!
What makes this House unique
I love where this is on the Lake. You are right in the middle of the North Shore, with easy access to all of Lake Tahoe. The Lake is 3 miles, casinos, 3.5, Northstar 4, Reno 35 minutes, and South Shore is 40 and FUN to go to in the summertime. Skiing is everywhere. I ski at Alpine and Squaw and to drive there from the house, I go the back way and eliminate all the traffic in Tahoe City. I can get there in 20 min's., and is an easy drive. The restaurants and shops on the lake speak for themselves. But...Northstar is my new hangout! The Village is beautiful! There is a big ice-skating rink surrounded by bars, tiki torches and outdoor couches with fire pits. Around this are shops and restaurants and then the ski lifts. It reminds be of Vail. In the summertime the ice becomes roller skating with the same ambiance. You can't beat the neighborhood here. Walking the trails is a twice daily event. There are maintained by the forest service and easy to follow. You can walk to Agate bay, or even Tahoe City if so inclined. Because the area is just up from the Lake, most of the trails have panoramic views of the Lake. The house is super comfortable and I love walking out the back door and being in the meadow with tall pines. The smell of the forest permeates the house and its quiet, peaceful, and visually soothing.

The house is in a great location, very quiet and a beautiful setting. Nice creek in the back. Hot tub is very good. We had 15 people there and had plenty of room and good beds.
Beautiful home in a great neighborhood
This home is beautiful and feels very comfortable. We were 8 adults and 7 children and had plenty of space. The kitchen is large and open and contained everything needed to prepare meals including items you wouldn't generally find in rental. The home is nicely decorated with all the amenities to make it feel like a real home. We took advantage of the jacuzzi, and nearby parks, going on family walks to the lake and the park for the kids.
It is located in a great neighborhood and has easy and fast access to hiking trails, skiing, tubing, etc. We would definitely rent this place again.
Thanks for the review. The house is spread out which allows privacy for a large group.
The kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans and pretty much anything you need to be make meals during your stay.
I hope to host your family again.
Great place for our group!
We had a wonderful stay at this cabin. Close enough to Safeway when we needed anything. Close to the lake. No cell service. You'll need to walk up the road a bit, or drive to town to connect. Few things need some work, but overall a wonderful stay for our group.
Thanks Michael. The house is on a cul-de-sac and you feel miles away from everything but you’re not. Safeway, Kings Beach, golf are less than 3 miles away.
Cell service works with the wi-fi and unfortunately, the internet was out during your stay. The internet is ATT and is working well along with the cell service.
Hope your family can return soon.
Wonderful, cozy cabin near ski lifts
This is the perfect place for a family ski vacation. The cabin is decorated in a soothing decor with enough space to rest, sleep and eat. The kitchen had everything we needed as we do not like to eat out in Lake Tahoe due to the crowds. The beds were comfortable and clean.
It was very nice having the bedrooms spread out. It gave us a feeling of privacy. We picked this cabin because it is close to the lake and to skiing .. we were not disappointed. Our favorite perk was the hot tub. We truly enjoyed having a private hot tub for just our family, and the hot tub was just steps away on the patio out doors. We look forward to renting this cabin again in the future.
Clean. Not as big as we thought for 12 people. Downstairs bathroom for master suite was great for kitchen level but upstairs only one bathroom for 8 people kind of tight. Basement level bedroom too hot at night only one thermostat for house. Hot tub not working but fixed next day some guests wouldn’t go in thought water was dirty. Ice machine not connected. Had to buy blender left for future guests. Had to buy own snow ice melting salt stairs icy during stay. My son helped shovel and chip ice with hired help took over an hour and blistered hands. Good location to ski areas.
Thanks for taking the time to write a review.
The house has 3 bathrooms. 1 on each floor. There is a central heater with air vents in each room that can be closed to the heat. The bedroom on basement level has 3 windows and 1 patio door that open.
The hot tub’s water was serviced the day they arrived and the following day when the technician fixed the tub by pushing the reset button on the heater.
Feb and March of 2019 was the biggest snow fall in 2 decades. Even though I have a crew of 4 removing snow, the snow was too much too fast. Staying in Tahoe during this time was difficult for everyone. But… the snow created great skiing. The house is in an ideal location to access Northstar, Alpine Meadows and Squaw Valley.
Top-notch house with great owner!
We have been renting group ski houses in North Lake Tahoe for over a decade and this is one of the best houses we've stayed in. The house is the perfect mix of charming/cozy with modern convenience. We love to cook and the kitchen had absolutely everything we needed. The house is spacious, gorgeous views of the meadow and it is well laid-out for large groups. It was a very cold February weekend and the house was well insulated and we stayed warm. Equally important, the owner (Sandy) was incredibly responsive - we had one minor hiccup with the Microwave and she went above and beyond to ensure everything was immediately attended to. We loved our stay and hope to be back next year!
I'm glad your family enjoyed the house Mel! Hope you can return for another stay.
This house is in the middle of the Northshore and has easy access to all Lake Tahoe has to offer. 1.5 miles from the highway, getting around the Tahoe Basin is effortless. The drive around the Lake is breathtaking and you'll enjoy the different little towns that surround the Lake.
The house is in a quiet pocket of homes just up from the Lake at Kings Beach and on a cul de sac. All the homes here sit on a meadow with tall pine trees, and roads dead end at the hiking trails. Winter and summer they are used and maintained by the forest service. It borders the Tahoe Rim trail which is a destination for some with endless hiking trails you can access from the house. Brockway Summit is well know for its path to Tahoe City, and Watson Lake is worth hiking too. You can walk in the summertime to our neighborhood park, North National Park. The park encompasses approximately 124 acres of predominantly active recreational activities. An 18 par fitness course, ball fields, Frisbee Golf, playground are just a few options. In the wintertime they offer a nice sledding hill for tubing and snow fun. The house also had a small sleddding hill right into the yard when it snows enough for the little ones.
Within 20 min to all the ski resorts on the North Shore, Northstar in the closest and newest village. The village was modeled after Beaver Creek Colorado...cobblestone sidewalks, copper roofs and a multitude of restaurants and shops that line the 'square'. The square is an ice skating rink in the wintertime and roller skating in summer. The bon fire pits and outdoor bars are always there. Its a wonderful setting to hang out at especially at night. Skiing here is family orientated with lots of ski programs for all ages, and a pristine mountain that keeps a good grasp on good snow conditions.
If your staying a week, I highly recommend taking advantage of the other resorts also. You can drive the back way to Alpine and Squaw which eliminates the morning back up in Tahoe City. Both mountains have tons of excellent skiing, and mountain biking in the summertime. MT Rose is where to go for open terrain, Diamond Peak for kids and an easy day skiing. Both are 15 min to the house.
In the summertime, Kings Beach just down the street is a State Park with lifeguard and lake toys to rent. The beach is the highlight with wide sandy beaches, and views you have to experience to appreciate. There are also smaller beaches up and down the strip for reading a book, and dog beaches for your loved ones.
Brockway golf course in Kings Beach is a must for those that just want a good time. One of the top 9 hole courses in California, its known for its yardage and views. In the wintertime it becomes a snowmobiling park.
Tahoe City is 12 miles away and offers another nice city with shops, restaurants and outdoor venues. The Truckee River is our playground for fishing, river rafting, and bike baths to view all. A nice day is renting your bike in Tahoe City and riding to River Ranch. This is a river front restaurant with large outdoor patio at the entrance to Alpine Meadows. Here is where the river tours end and usually where the rafts have issues. You can spend the day here watching the rafters and enjoying their menu and drink.
Between the location , amenities of the house, and your favorite family or friends, you'll have a great home to stay at while getting a true Lake Tahoe experience.
