The loft:
Our loft sits in a converted spinning mill, stone walls and renovated interior, fully furnished and fully equipped. A very large living room-dining room-kitchen (gas stove) is the ground floor with large windows facing west, offering a beautiful light and beautiful sunsets. The kitchen area includes a large square high table for appetizers and informal meals, a large sink, a dishwasher and all kitchen utensils for 8 people. A scullery includes all appliances (American fridge, microwave, additional electric oven, sink two bins, washing machine, dryer). The ground floor also includes a second dining area (table / chairs for 10 people), a large fireplace for winter evenings around the fire, a lounge area, a bedroom with separate dressing room and private bathroom. The staircase leads upstairs and serves two bedrooms, two bathrooms and the mezzanine with TV lounge (sofa bed). Some double beds (160 cm) in the rooms can be converted into single beds. Yoga and river equipment available. Private parking in front of the house (2 cars) in a closed and protected courtyard. No smoking inside the house, allowed outside on the terrace. Animals to discuss with us. Wifi access to the internet in all rooms.
Location:
The house is located in the charming village of Saint Bauzille de Putois, a typical Languedoc village at the entrance of the Cévennes National Park, 3 minutes walk from the river, its beaches, and various restaurants and shops of the village ( pharmacy, bakery, butcher's shop, grocery store, etc.). The nearest town, GANGES, is 10 minutes away, and offers all the shops, grocery stores, local farmers market, etc..
- North: 60 minutes from MONT AIGOUAL, the highest mountain in the region, and the Cévennes Park;
- South: 45 minutes from MONTPELLIER (train station and airport), 60 minutes from its beautiful white sand beaches;
- East: 60 minutes from Nîmes, 75 minutes from the Pont du Gard (Unesco World Heritage Site), 4 hours from Italy;
- West: 2h30 from the fortified city of CARCASSONNE (another classified site), 3h from TOULOUSE and SPAIN.
The unavoidable :
The high season is summer, accompanied by swimming in the Hérault and in the small private pool terrace, barbecue, superb views of the mountains and the river; the region is famous for hiking, climbing, fishing, multiple options of canoeing / kayaking, via ferrata, paragliding, waterfalls and canyoning, the Grotte des Demoiselles, wine tasting in the surrounding area ... Autumn brings mushrooms and chestnuts to brown in the imposing fireplace in the living room. Winter is coming, with its ski walks at Mont Aigoual and its evenings by the fire. Other nearby attractions include Cirque de Navacelle (50 min), Saint Guilhem le Desert (35 min) and, of course, the beautiful medieval city of Montpellier (30 min). The fauna and flora are generous all year round.
