Ideal to enjoy the natural splendour of nature at 2 bedroom plantation house
About Sonali Gunaratne
We own 3 luxury villas on the beach and 2 villas close to the sea. These properties are our family holiday homes, we live in Colombo and have a wonderful team of staff at our properties to ensure our guests have a wonderful stay.
Sonali Gunaratne purchased this House in 2006
Why Sonali Gunaratne chose Ahangama
We purchased this property because we wanted to provide organic fruits, vegetables and flowers and foliage for our 5 villas we own. Since this property had so many wild peacocks, bear monkeys , porcupines, birds and hare, we built a 2 bedroom bungalow to enjoy the tranquillity and blend into nature.
What makes this House unique
peacock point has a beautiful green view around the bungalow with paddy fields, absolutely wonderful to live with in nature. Away from it all and yet within 10 minutes one has access to tourist beaches, surfing spots.
Canceled bookings will not receive a refund
We had a wonderful week at Peacock Point. The villa sits in a small estate comprising tea, cinnamon and other crops; you will eat some of this produce during the stay. The room was clean and air conditioning and internet worked well. The staff were excellent and cooked us some fantastic curries in the evening - quite the best we had while staying in Sri Lanka. If you enjoy peace and tranquility (not always easy to find in Sri Lanka) then this is an excellent place. It is to be noted that its location is a 10 minute tuk-tuk ride from restaurants and the beach highway - tuk-tuk costs about £1.50 to the beach; there are some good places to eat about 10 minutes away by tuk-tuk - we enjoyed Ceylon Cafe. If you don't go out, the chef will leave you food so you can dine in. The owners were very helpful in this respect as they gave us a local mobile phone and the useful numbers that we needed - very thoughtful so we could call up a tuk-tuk when needed. We spent time cycling and at the beach but always enjoyed coming back to Peacock Point in the evenings - it felt very restful.
We also really liked here was the guided tour of the estate by Malika; the peace and quiet; the huge bed; the staff. Recommended.
