Great place! Had a nice fire lake side under a harvest moon. Beautiful! Coffee on the deck in the mornings. Beautiful!
The home and surroundings are wonderful. VERY well equipped house. Wildlife: deer, osprey, eagles, turkeys and loons delighted us every day. Brad was great to communicate with.
Kids | Kayaking | Nature
We had two families spending a week at the property, which included four kids (ages 7, 6, 4 & 3 ). There was lots of nature to be explored (Loons, Egles, Osprey, Turkeys, Fishing, Frog Hunting, etc). Every day we kayaked 20-minutes to the 'Big Island' (with the kids), where there are trails, hammocks, fire pits, rope swings, swimming holes, and a picnic table.
The house accommodated the families very nicely and was very well stocked for a lot of in-house cooking. It has a beautiful deck, with lots of seating, and grounds were meticulous.
Excursions included: The Western Fort, Fast Eddies, Cushnoc Brewing Co., Tabers Restaurant & Golf and Peppers Garden & Grill.
Very relaxing. Great weather. Clean lake. Fun times!
We loved staying here. The property was just as described, and the beach was private and peaceful. There are kayaks to take out on the lake, which we used more than once. The kids loved swimming, and were in the water within an hour of our check-in. Brad was easy to contact and quick to respond to respond to any questions we had.
Our favorite thing to do was sit in the early mornings on the deck and listen to the loons call to each other from the water.
Our family vacations usually involve day trips: Hallowell (with some good antique shopping) is nearby, and the house is only about an hours drive from Portland.
But we stayed close for the most part, as this was a beautiful place to rest and recharge!
Amazing week with family!
We had an amazing week at this property with our family and friends. Great spot if you have young kids as the water is shallow around the beach! We loved exploring the islands with the kayaks and canoe at the house and making smore's by the campfire at night! House was just perfect for us with all of the amenities available - washer and dryer, dishwasher, spacious rooms, A/C units in bedrooms and lawn games! We explored some local hiking spots and downtown Winthrop, too. Wonderful experience and I hope we can get back next year!
Wonderful family vacation
We had an amazing week.
Brad was a great host
He was attentive when we needed him, and let us have our vacation when we didn't. Perfect.
The house is lovely. One of the most well appointed kitchens I have seen. It had everything we needed. The bedrooms were comfortable, the A/C appreciated on a couple hot nights. Plenty seating and spots to go off for some alone time.
The property is private. We had great swimming and great fishing. We watched eagles, osprey, otters, frogs, and ducks.
Thank you Brad for everything. This was a vacation we will always remember.
