The Trapp Family Resort was established in 1947 when the Maria Von Trapp (Sound of Music) and her family opened an Austrian-inspired ski lodge. Today the Resort consists of a Main Lodge, Guest Houses, and Villas. Trapp is situated on 2,500 acres in idyllic Stowe, Vermont and boasts 30 miles of groomed trails for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in the winter and mountain biking in the warmer months, making Trapp a magical four seasons destination.

The Villa offers stunning mountain views, old-world comforts, and impeccable service, along with the activities for every season. You will experience unparalleled elegance and comfort in a private mountain setting. Enjoy free access to all resort amenities such as pool, fitness center, hot tub, tennis courts, hiking trails, etc.

Trapp has some other unique experiences available onsite and in walking distance from the Villa that are sure to make your experience unforgettable. Trapp has its own brewery and Bierhalle restaurant, lounge and fine dining restaurant in the main lodge, and Austrian-themed bakery. Other remarkable activities include horse-drawn wagon rides, tours of the property, historical tours of the lodge chronicling the von Trapp family, indoor and outdoor pools, disc-golf, baking classes, craft-making opportunities, afternoon tea and cookies in the main lodge, seasonal evening campfires with s'mores, guided hiking tours, and more.

Perfect!

Suite was exactly as advertised; stay on Von Trapp lodge property even better than expected! We enjoyed the restaurant, the birthdays, the cross country ski trails and the hot tub. If you arrive early for check in or want to stay a little longer after check out there’s plenty of places to hang out and things to do on the property. Perfect! Can’t wait to stay again.

Beware! Owner misrepresented his property!

We were really looking forward to our stay at in this Villa. It was a little pricey for a one bedroom but it looked nice with a lot of amenities. First, it states specifically No Pets Allowed and use of a hot tub on the Lodge property. We would never book anything that allows dogs. The renters in the other side of the villa had 2 barking dogs. Each time the people left they barked and they barked upon their return. They barked when we returned to the villa. We are dog people but we did not pay to hear someone elses dogs bark. The hot tub was closed the entire month of October for renovations. We contacted the owner who simply said "It is pet friendly. You must have booked from an old ad." It's the ad I paid him through so how can it be old?. He also told us he didn't know the hot tub was closed. We asked up at the Lodge and was told all owners were notified of the renovations. How easy to just shrug us off with not even an I'm sorry offered. We would not have booked here if it was pet friendly and no hot tub. There are many great choices. Even though the grounds are very nice, there are other Villas and you have no idea what you will get when you rent this one. Vrbo was no help with this when we returned home. It's disappointing the owner is allowed to do this and the renter has no backing. I was told they had no recourse with the owner because we didn't contact them in a certain time frame.
