Come fall in love with our Creole Cottage built in 1894 dripping with historic charm such as 14' ceilings, French & pocket doors, heart pine floors & four fireplaces-one in every room!
Originally 2 homes, they have been combined and modern conveniences such as a large granite topped kitchen island, dishwasher, laundry room and central heat and air have been added for your comfort. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes and appliances, coffee and sugar. There is WIFI & 2 smart TVs.
The walkability of this location is amazing! Located in the Marigny Triangle, you are 5 blocks to the best live music in the country, Frenchmen St. where you find dozens of clubs, a different band playing in each, usually for the price of a drink. This is the best place for swing jazz and you can even take a lesson if you'd like.
You are also walking distance to the French Market, Jackson Square and of course, Bourbon St. as well as Armstrong Park, streetcar lines & cemetaries, including St. Louis #1. Just a couple blocks away: Robert grocery store, Budsi's Thai, Iggy's Bar, Ruby Slipper Cafe, & Kajun's Pub, a karaoke bar. And SO MUCH MORE!
We bought this home for its charm and proximity to the music. The decor is music themed, and most pieces have been purchased from local artists. The Royal Carriages is located across the street and you will love seeing and hearing them come and go. It's easy to imagine life in another time when you hear the clop clopping passing by.
As you plan your trip, please remember that while you are on vacation, this is a residential neighborhood and we are a tight knit group. Please be respectful and adhere to the noise ordinance which states that in residential neighborhoods quiet hours are 10pm-8am. No parties and no smoking inside.
You don’t need a car to have a great time here. Buses & street cars are a short walk away. There is 2 hour on street parking in front of the house however you are better off around the corner on Pauger or St. Anthony as it's not timed on those streets. The closest parking lot is a 6 minute walk from the house. If you are wanting to do a day trip you can rent a car nearby and they will even come pick you up. There are also several companies that will take you out of the city to tour the swamps, the plantations, etc.
Thank you for considering our property for your trip to New Orleans. Laissez les bons temps roulez!
