Our place...
Transformative, relaxing vacations on the sugar sand beaches of FORT MORGAN (unincorporated Gulf Shores, AL) begin in our spacious duplex, which is safely equipped with exterior security cameras (checked for neighborhood safety & rules violations upon arrival & occasionally during your stay). You get beautiful views and 2200 sq ft of room in the completely private left side of the duplex. There are no shared doors, patios, etc. Completely private! The neighborhood has a gated entry, pool & hot tub (2 minute walk), and its own private beach access (4 minute walk). Parking is available by pool & beach boardwalk, too.
This is a luxury home appointed with gorgeous Lilly Pulitzer theming and has a fully stocked, large kitchen complete with spices galore. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. People always comment on how comfortable the beds are! The mood of our place is Family/Peaceful/Relaxing/Quiet...not party. If you're looking for a party vacay, this is not the right place for you.
Each bedroom has it's own smart TV equipped with multiple streaming services...we provide: Netflix, Disney+, HBOMax, Prime, Frndly (Hallmark, etc), Hulu, and more (we DO NOT HAVE CABLE). We have fast internet (400gbps) and a dedicated workspace/desk in the living room, which also has a 55" Smart TV.
There is a downstairs master bedroom with separate entry & balcony so Grandma & Grandpa (or a 2nd couple) can come and go, or just sit out and look across our beautiful, peaceful neighborhood while they enjoy coffee, without disturbing or waking anyone else. The room has a private entry into the full bathroom that also serves as the powder room for the living area. It has a walk-in shower and a separate door for access from the living area. This downstairs master has a dresser with mirror, a queen size bed and a sitting/reading area as well. There is also a TV on an adjustable swing arm mount so you can watch TV in bed or from the rocking chair. 2 extra pillows & a blanket are in the closet. Bedside rugs and a ceiling fan create a very comfy atmosphere. Charging stations and lamps on both bedsides.
The upstairs master bedroom has a King size bed and an en suite full bath that includes a walk-in shower with built in seat. It has a private balcony overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. It also has a sitting area, a smart TV, a dresser, large bedside rug, ceiling fan, and 2 extra pillows and a blanket in one of 2 accessible closets. Charging stations and lamps on both bedsides.
Upstairs, there is also the Children's Room, which has a single twin bed and a bunkbed that has a full size on bottom & a single on top. It has its own full bathroom that includes a shower/tub combo with handheld shower nozzle. There is a TV on a fully adjustable swing arm mount, so you can adjust to view from whichever bed you prefer. Extra pillows and blankets are in the closet, along with a box fan (no ceiling fan due to bunk bed/safety), and a power strip for charging all devices. A tower dresser completes the room.
There is a laundry room upstairs in the hallway. It includes a washer & dryer, iron & ironing board, laundry basket and detergent.
There is a beautiful view of the Gulf from the living room and the gulf-facing deck. The TV in the living room has a DVD player and a small selection of DVD's in the entertainment center, which has an electric fireplace in it. In the living room, we provide enough comfortable seating for all 8 of you at one time. The large sectional sofa seats 7 and there's also the swiveling recliner for your comfort. The ottoman and ceiling fan invite you to kick your feet up and relax after a long sunny day at the beach or fishing.
In our large, open kitchen we have a conventional coffee pot (plus filters, sugar, powder creamer & coffee), a KEURIG singles machine (we don't supply KCups, so please bring your own if you want to use it), and a Chemex style pour-through single cup maker. We try to keep a selection of teas available for our guests, as well. Our spice cabinet is loaded and usually has oils. Feel free to use it or not. Our fridge has the filtered water & ice dispenser in the door (our water tastes great, by the way!). You'll find a crockpot, air fryer, blender, mixer, knife block, drink pitchers, wine glasses of all types and more. Please note that there is a 2nd fridge that is clearly labeled "Owners Fridge", which is for our private use.
The dining room has a table that seats up to 7, plus 4 barstools at the bar next to it.
Near the main entry is a family-fun closet with games, puzzles, cornhole set, crayons, books, grilling tools, etc. You'll find a beach bag with 8 beach towels (7 Turkish towels, 1 regular) that you are welcome to use if you wash and return them to their place before checkout (cleaner doesn't have time to wash additional load).
We have a coded lock at the entry. You will be given your own personal code via email & text 2-3 days before check-in, and it will be deleted upon check-out, for everyone's security. Early check in may be available for an additional fee.
Under the house, there is a seating area with dining table, a handheld outdoor shower for spraying off the sand, a deck box filled with all kinds of beach goodies, including beach chairs, boogie boards, sand toys, balls, pool noodles, beach umbrella and more. There is also a new Weber basic charcoal grill by the deck box. We have matches and grilling tools in the Family Fun Closet, but you will need to supply your own charcoal and you will be required to empty the ashes out after using.
We provide all linens for your stay. We supply 1 roll of toilet paper per bathroom, 2 small bars of soap per bathroom, 1 roll of paper towels, 2 dishwasher pods, trash bags, and dish soap. There is also a broom, mop and vacuum in the under-stairs closet. We try to keep a box of extra trash bags and a bottle of extra auto-dishwashing detergent above the kitchen sink.
Our home is a second home for us. Please respect it and take care of it and its contents. You are not allowed to take any of the contents of our home with you, including cleaning/general supplies. Refrain from eating anywhere other than the kitchen, dining room or outside areas. Clean off all sand at the outdoor shower before coming up to the house.
