Wonderful property and community
This property was absolutely fantastic, a solid 10 out of 10! My wife and her friend chose it for a four-night stay, and it perfectly met their needs. My buddy and I also had a great time in the game room and enjoyed both the front and back patios. The sitting areas were ideal for conversations, and there's a full dining room available for extra space. The kitchen and bathrooms were impressively modern and clean, and the owner was very prompt with communications and instructions. Additionally, the location was superb, with downtown Aiken offering easy access to restaurants and bars. I highly recommend the Wilcox Hotel bar/restaurant, Takosushi for its eclectic menu, and Tailgate Tavern for a great sports dive bar experience. The locals embraced seeing tourists and were helpful when asking recommendations. We were in town for the Masters tournament in Augusta, just a quick 20-minute drive away. As avid golfers, my buddy and I took advantage of the Aiken Golf Club, only three minutes from the property. It's a hidden gem of a golf course designed by the legendary Donald Ross in 1912. The tree-lined layout provides a challenging and nostalgic experience, offering a glimpse into golf as it was played a century ago.

Beautiful and wonderfully unique property located just minutes from downtown Aiken with a variety of restaurants and shops. We were only 30 minutes from the Masters and this was a wonderful landing spot.

About the host

I travel primarily for business and enjoy staying in exciting and historical places. Throughout my business travels, I sought unique owner rentals worldwide instead of hotels. Historic home restoration is my lifelong passion. My wife Stacy and I have been married 25 years and have six children and three grandchildren.

Why they chose this property

I love restoring historic homes to their original grandeur. I have restored numerous homes in some of America's most beautiful historic districts. My current project, Lone Magnolia, is no exception. Aiken, SC, is one of the most friendly and charming southern towns I have ever visited. I loved the town and searched for a historic home project.

What makes this property unique

Lone Magnolia is a 1917 home fully restored to modern standards and luxury while maintaining its turn-of-the-century charm. The home is a comfortable six-minute walk to the heart of the restored and charming downtown Aiken. There, you will find numerous local restaurants and entertainment. We love being here and hope you find our home peaceful, therapeutic, and relaxing.
