Perfect getaway

My husband, myself and our daughter enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home so much! It's by far the most updated, modern, well decorated, vacation home we've ever stayed in. Our daughter (7 years old) enjoyed playing at the little beach area and walking on the dock. The views are spectacular. We stayed 4 nights and even though 2 of those days came with heavy rain, we still enjoyed being cozied up in this charming house listening to the rain. We had two really nice days where we played near the water, had dinner on the deck and enjoyed the hot tub. I honestly can't say enough good things about this property. It's very reasonably priced and you just can't beat the views or the location. There are huge windows in the house upstairs and downstairs. We enjoyed our tea on the side deck (that looks directly out over the water) in the mornings. We were so close to town, where there are plenty of good restaurants. We visited Williamsburg one day and Jamestown on the last day. Shannon has decorated this home so beautifully and it had everything we needed. If you're looking for a wonderful stay, this little slice of heaven can't be beat. You wont be sorry you booked it, that's for sure. Thank you for a wonderful stay! We can't wait to come back one day!

February Weekend Away

Comfortable cottage with great views of the river. Well stocked kitchen, lots of blankets for sitting around the living room and a nice hot tub. Close to town and hiking trails.

A lovely retreat!

We wanted a quiet spot to stare at the water, read, walk, and restore. Shannon and Corey's property was the perfect spot, gorgeous, comfortable furnishings, and the view! Shannon was incredibly helpful when I flubbed my booking dates and helped us sort it out so we could actually relax and enjoy our retreat. Musing about coming in warmer weather to make use of those kayaks.

Why they chose this property

This area is where I personally grew up. I remember the days on the river at a very young age. I fished, crabbed, learned how to swim, relax, kayak, explore and I am still enjoying all of this today with my family and friends.

What makes this property unique

Pictures cannot even describe this property (many of our guests say this once they arrive). It is one of the most serene places to be. Listening to the waves crash up against the rocks at night, taking a nap in the hammock on a warm summer afternoon, to watching the Osprey on the river, there is not a better place to enjoy nature at it's best. It is all at your fingertips.
