House, 4 Bedrooms, 2.5+ Baths, (Sleeps 10)
Having been a professional Yacht Captain in the Carribbean for many years I have visited every island in the Carribbean. Discovering North Captiva I realized North Captiva offered the best of all worlds and was where I wanted to be. Having grown up in Atlanta Georgia, I learned to appreciate the scenic beauty and the privacy that North Captiva has to offer. Yachting is all about pride of ownership. Having owned and operated numerous luxury charter yachts I know that clients appreciate the attention to detail and the pride of ownership that guest will experience when renting my home 'LAS OLAS'.
Steve purchased this House in 2010
Why Steve chose Captiva
North Captiva offers seclusion and privacy yet only 5 miles off shore. While the rest of the world is over whelmed with the problems of daily life, North Captiva is a sanctuary from the stresses of daily Life. Everyone on island is so warm and friendly. Quite often friendships are made by simply stopping in the golf cart to chat with neighbors on island. North Captiva represents a simpler time when life was about enjoying the scenic beauty that nature has to offer. Las Olas is located near the state park nature preserve on the higher elevation side of the island.
What makes this House unique
The beautiful views of the gulf and bay from the home. The sunsets and sunrises that can be experienced from the house are wonderful. The 10 foot ceilings and the large over sized bedrooms. The marble floors through out. The huge great room and kitchen with the vaulted ceilings are great for entertaining. Taking my dog for a morning walk on the beach and beach combing. The private heated Pool! The large screened in Lanai off the living room. The 5 story observation deck which affords 360 degree views and is a great way to enjoy the end of a perfect day on North Captiva.

Family Vacation and grandsons 1st birthday trip
Beautiful house and property, bug spray is a must for first thing in the morning and around 5-7 pm. But that is for the entire island. Gulf of Mexico shore line right up the road and for those wanting more relaxing waters it’s a short golf cart ride away to the other side of the island. I hate to add the same negative but golf carts in that environment are hard to keep in top shape. Upon arrival we had 1 cart but the property managers worked it out for a loaner until the limo cart was worked on. I had a battery cable come loose they day it was fixed but I tightened it up and had no issues the rest of the week out of either cart. Washer had it’s hiccups but was tolerable. The view from the rooftop deck is amazing at sunset, sun rise and at night. We spent most nights eating dinner out on the screened in deck. We traveled with kids 1 yr old, 10 yr old 17, and then my 20yr old and her fiancé. The property has a lot of safty and convenience for a young child which saved us a lot of extra luggage to carry. The property suited us well with the ping pong table, pool table, private pool and hot tub, as well as enough rooms to be comfortable. The privacy of the pool also invites debris, a quick vacuum of the pool daily was easy and kept it clean. We really enjoyed our getaway there. We will return to north Captiva in the future.
Great house in a great location!
Las Olas was exactly what we expected based on the pictures and reviews of the house. It is truly beautiful inside and out. It's in a great location, just a short trip to any of the beaches. The pool is beautiful and was very nice to have on site. We spent many hours in the pool every day. The house is equipped with everything that you need for the week from kitchen utensils to beach towels. The 2 golf carts that come with the house were great to have. The property owner Steve was very quick in responding to any of our needs. The managers that pick you up at the shuttle were fantastic and a wealth of knowledge regarding the island and the house. We definitely plan on coming back to Las Olas!
Very Family Friendly. Our 5th stay on the island and best yet. Be patient with golf carts, they can act up but Steve quick to respond. Also suggest discussing with Steve to help clean the pool in the AM when filter is running.. Pool has great privacy with the tress, but can leave some minor debris if you like a clean swim. Fantastic Experience.
Las Olas is amazing!
We just returned today from a week at the amazing Las Olas! The home and property is amazing, clean and fully stocked. We had an issue with the golf carts which the owner responded to immediately. He had a mechanic out at first light and also ensured the pool was cleaned for our first morning. Steve is lightning fast to respond and goes above and beyond to take care of his guests. Check in and out was a breeze and the caretakers are lovely people who walk you through every thing you may need to know. The home has labels to help you locate everything and no questions left unanswered in the very helpful book which awaits all guests. Our family loved the beach which seemed mostly empty each day especially if you walk a bit to the other side of the sandbar. We loved coming home to Las Olas and playing in the pool before dinner each day and the kids had so much fun playing pool and ping pong. We never got around to the hot tub because, well, it is hot this time of year and the pool was all we wanted but the hot tub area is it’s own private oasis. The screened in deck on the second floor was a lifesaver and meant we did not have to bathe in deet to enjoy the evenings. The layout of the house is genius and every aspect of our stay exceeded our expectations! Also- props for having the best beach chairs I have ever used with their clever insulated compartments for stashing my drinks and lounging on the beach all day every day! Las Olas and Steve are amazing and I hope to return next summer! Steve- thank you for making your beautiful home available for families to enjoy we very much appreciate you!
Wonderful house on a magical island
As many other reviewers said, this is truly a wonderful property. We absolutely loved the house, it is very well thought out and doesn’t lack for anything. The huge screened-in porch was key, we spent a lot of time there enjoying the view and the fresh air without baking in the sun (or being bitten). I had some reservations about being off the mainland with two little kids, but it was quite easy and we all would love to come back.
Everyone was excellent
