Leaves a lot to be desired
This is the first time we have been disappointed with a short term rental, VRBO or others.
As a warning to others, here's a list of things you might expect at a VRBO that were not at this home:
- Coffee maker.
- Clothes hangers.
- Toilet paper. There was a roll in each bathroom but no replacements. As a family renting for a full week, that's not going to cut it.
- Kitchen utensils were VERY limited.
- Dishwasher detergent. Zero.
- Paper towels. There was a half roll in the counter at check in. No replacements.
- Pool. There is one in the listing but, the community pool is accessible only to residents.
- Instructions. Nothing anywhere about trash, cleaning, gardener, etc.
We like to utilize VRBO for stays over a few days so we can enjoy the creature comforts of home when traveling. This home, unfortunately, provides none of those comforts and is the first I have felt compelled to review poorly.
The home is sparsely filled with the cheapest possible furniture to make it seem rentable in pictures. There is nothing welcoming nor any sense of a desire to provide a pleasant stay by the host. While the home and neighborhood are nice, the accommodations are not.
In defense of the host, he replied about the lack of supplies and offered to reimburse us any unnecessary expenses. This was a very nice gesture and I would hope he fills the home with needed supplies for future renters.
