Very nice holiday home!
We stayed in this lovely holiday home in Tandern. It was very spacious and the views of the countryside were spectacular! It was very quiet and each room had a nice patio to sit out in the evening. It was a wonderful place to stay, nice kitchen and barbeque to prepare meals. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this home for your holiday. Sonja left a treat for each of us on our bedside table, which my grandchildren loved. It was a great location for us as we explored the surrounding area. IF you have a chance check out this home for your holiday it is a great value for money. There is a washer & dryer for your use. I had a little trouble with the machines since I didn’t know German, but Google translate solved my problem. Loved it!!
Nice place but very remote. We never found the bakery.
This is not a review of this exact property as we were kindly asked to switch locations to accommodate another family. The apartment that we stayed in met all our expectations. We chose to take the train into Munich from nearby Petershaussen. The schedule from there matched our needs better. We did have a nice meal at the restaurant at the station at Automunster. One of our excursions was to the zoo. Very nice even in light rain.
The bakery that other reviewers have mentioned was sadly closed during our visit.
The only negative comment I will make is that the fee to use the washer & dryer seemed a little high-4 Euro to wash, 4 to dry.
This was by far the favorite stay on our tour. After a long day of sight seeing, this was the perfect spot to relax and decompress. I can honestly say I had my best sleep here in months!
The property was exactly as advertised and the hospitality provided by the owner Sonja, was second to none. There is a bier garden less than a mile away you shouldn't miss. Great food, beer (even non-alcoholic) and friendly local people. The grocery store is another mile or so past the bier garden. Load up on fresh meat and cheese from the deli counter here for a relaxing evening on your private patio back at Sonja's. The store has everything you'd expect from a small grocer. Warning: By law, stores must close on Sunday, so be sure to get shopping done on Saturday! (and take your own shopping bag).
The only possible downside to staying here is that it is too comfortable. I skipped the short train ride to Munich with my travel companions one day to relax and unwind here. It's was just what I needed, no regrets!
Since this property is located in the countryside, away from city lights, don't miss the opportunity to look up on clear nights. The visibility of the stars is incredible. We even spotted a couple satellites and a shooting star!
All in all, this is a wonderful place to stay and I highly recommend it.
Large home in a rural area. Looking outside the windows you see horses, oat and corn fields. Very beautiful setting. Wonderful breeze throughout home. Clean except for under furniture and places unseen. Owner was not present as much as the other reviewers so a book explaining the area, laundry facilities, windows, and other information would be helpful.
High spec house in a picturesque surrounding
We are a family of 2 adults and 2 children aged 11 and 14 years. We found this house to be a very well equipped and clean holiday home in a very picturesque rural setting. The beds were very comfortable, there were 2 bedrooms and a fold out bed in the spacious sitting room. The kitchen was clean and well equipped and there was a very nice outdoor seating area and garden. My husband and son enjoyed the ping pong table in the garden. The town of Tandern is picture postcard perfect. There are lovely rural walks in the safe and clean countryside of Tandern. We loved the Bavarian countryside. There is a shop in Tandern that sells all the basics and lovely bread and croissants. There is a lidl shop in a nearby town if you wish to stock up on groceries. We took lots of day trips. We spent a day in Salzberg in Austria which is approx 3 hours drive away. We visited Dachau camp which was very educational for the children. We spent 2 days in Munich where we visited BMW world and enjoyed everything this very safe apparently crime free city has to offer. We happened to be there for the world cup which was a wonderful experience for my soccer mad 11 year old. We visited the spa at Erding which we all really enjoyed. The children loved the slides and I loved relaxing in the lovely warm water. This would be a perfect place to go on either a wet or warm day. The town of Erding is lovely with lots of nice places to eat and shop. This was a great holiday and I would highly recommend this lovely pension, it was probably the nicest holiday home that we have ever stayed in . Watch out for the irregular opening hours of the local shop and you will definitely need a car for this particular holiday!
Our holiday apartment is located stunningly in the triangle Munich-Ingolstad-Augsburg.
The city of Tandern was made famous through the films 'Beste Zeit' and 'Beste Gegend', which were produced by the distinguished director Rosenmüller.
Both Augsburg and Munich can be reached comfortably by car or train.
At the nearest S-train station (Petershausen) towards Munich you will find a large, free park and ride parking lot. From there, the S- and regional trains leave every 20 minutes to the center of our beautiful capital, with its countless recreational options. Dachau is also worth visiting due to its historic old city and the concentration camp memorial.
When planning your trip, you should not forget the nearby city of Augsburg. This old Roman city, with its famous puppet theatre, the Fuggerei, the romantic Christmas market, etc. will delight you.
Other Activities: Horseback riding, jogging
Golf: The golf course GUT HÄUSERN is about 12 km away
The refined and harmonic composition of forest, sand and water gives the tournament course a special characteristic made according to a Scottish model.
Demanding and diverse, the par 72 championship course is there for golfers.
A total length of about 6.710 (Champions) and 6 tees per hole guarantee a great experience!
