Great lake house, great location
We found this property online while searching for a suitable place for our family group, which included my wife and me; our 3 sons aged 18, 22, and 24; and our son's wife and 3 1/2 year old daughter. The house was ideal for our group, with plenty of beds and more importantly, a full bathroom with shower on each floor. The layout was great, with a large bedroom on the middle (main) floor with 2 queen beds, a lower floor with a queen bed and a separate bedroom with a twin-size trundle bed, and an upper loft area with a futon bed, foosball table, and an arcade game. The main floor had plenty of family space for lounging and playing games, with a beautiful custom table with pullout seating, which was ideal for meals and playing games. The internet access is strong, ideal for work and classwork for our students. The decks outside were amazing, with plenty of room for us, our gear, and patio beanbag games. The spa and sauna are on the lower deck, but we didn't use them because of the warm temperatures. Great amenities, though. Perhaps the largest plus was the immediate access to the lake. We brought an inflatable kayak and a large lounge raft. We fished right from the bank and on our inflatables. We also swam in the cove, which is protected and ideal. We did use the firepit several times, which we enjoyed alot. The location is great, as 2 marinas are close by to rent a boat, as we did. I recommend that as a means to explore beautiful Beaver Lake. Eureka Springs and its attractions are 30 minutes away. Also, Pea Ridge National Miltary Park, site of the Pea Ridge Civil War battle, is an outstanding attraction and highly recommended, is 20 minutes away. In short, we really enjoyed our stay here. Steve and Debbie are ideal owners, and they quickly responded to all our inquiries. I highly recommend it, and we plan to stay there again in the future.
Beautiful lake and neighborhood. This house comfortably slept 5 adults with lots of room. Deck was large but where the patio table sat the area was pretty shaky when walking on it. Might want to check that out. Hot tub was amazing. Thank you for sharing your home with us.
Very fun property!
Easy check in process around beautiful Beaver lake. The house was very clean and had every thing you would expect in a lake cabin. The hot tub and deck views were quite awesome! The lake access is quite close but is a very steep incline, and the fire pit is as well. The driveway as mentioned in other reviews is very difficult to manage, it is straight up and down and quite narrow/treacherous. All in all this was still a 5 star stay and would stay again.
Overall good stay. One bathroom toilet was dirty. The master bedroom was downstairs in the basement which had a mildew/moldy smell that bothered my asthma. We had to kill a mouse the first morning we were there. We were lucky to have a few hunters in our party. We had an issue with the washer and dryer. The lake was beautiful and we were able to unload our boat close to the house and dock the boat by tying it to a tree by the shore by the house.
Overall a great place!
The place was clean. And a great place for us. The driveway is sketchy (steep going down) but overall great and would stay again.
Trout Fishing, Antique and Flea Markets, Historical sites, Silver Dollar City(Branson), 'Bikes, Blues and BBQ' festival (October), Eureka Springs Blues Festival, Arts and Craft Fairs (October), Weddings at Whitney Mountain Chapel, Wal-Mart museum and home office, Autumn foliage here is awesome!
About Steve Beckerdite
Steve and Debbie both are pharmacists. Steve was brought up in Ft. Smith, AR and Debbie is from Monroe, LA. Both now live in Fayetteville, AR which is about 45 minutes from the lake house. Because we live so close we are very attentive to the house. We have been renting our house for 16 years and we know you won't return if you are not treated well. We have many repeat guests each year. We love outdoor activities and family life. Our grandson who is 8 really enjoys the lake house. What a "nature" education for him!
Steve Beckerdite purchased this House in 2001
Why Steve Beckerdite chose Garfield
After spending many vacations on Beaver Lake we decided to buy this house in 2001 as a weekend get-away and as a vacation rental unit. We looked at many houses in Lost Bridge Village subdivision before we bought. What sold us on this house was the quality. We did not see houses with cedar wood and real Ozark stone as this one does. The construction is very well done by one of the best contractors in our area and you can feel it throughout the house. The walk to the water from the house is very gentle. Even the elderly can usually handle it. We have a fish cleaning table at the water's edge. There is a charcoal grill and we have decided that the real charcoal rather than propane makes the food taste much better. There is always something to entertain you on Beaver. Walking, biking, swimming, boating, fishing, water sports, sailing, relaxing, relaxing, relaxing, etc.
What makes this House unique
Because our house has Ozark stone fireplaces, you can use it year round. The house has modern amenities; yet, it has a wonderful 'cabin' feel to it. The cedar accents throughout add a warm, cozy feeling to the rooms. There is plenty of glass to take advantage of the views from all sides. Even the living room has a sky light. Beautiful mountain lake with crystal clear waters for whatever your boating/fishing/swimming/sailing activities. This north end of Beaver Lake is the clearest part. The scuba diving club meets on this end because of that. Beaver is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful lakes we've ever seen. The water stays so deep blue green and clear. Whitney Mt makes the cliff views just awesome for picture taking. Make sure you tour Whitney Mt Chapel and the grounds at the top where the club house is. If you are looking for a site for a wedding you can't go wrong here year round! Our house has been used many times for a base house of stay for weddings and reunions. Be on the lookout for wildlife because there are lots. The openness of this house makes it very relaxing. We love eating on the deck because of the lake view. As soon as we hit the deck, we feel the stress just melt away! Just love it!
