About Elaine Allred
We've traveled throughout much of the world, but Bear Lake is our favorite family vacation spot.
Elaine Allred purchased this House in 2011
Why Elaine Allred chose St. Charles
Our family has enjoyed coming to Bear Lake for years, and we especially love it now that we have our own place. We've rented many times, and so we knew what to look for when selecting a home. We wanted something that would work for us year round, and we found a perfect home in St. Charles. The quiet solitude is wonderful! It's away from the hustle and bustle of Garden City (the largest town on the lake), but close enough to enjoy all the activities, like Raspberry Days and the Pickleville Playhouse. Our home is also close to North Beach, which is the best beach on Bear Lake, in our humble opinion. Minnetonka Cave is also close by, just a short drive up St. Charles Canyon. We have had our family reunion here for the past few years and host a slew of people each time. Other families have also had family reunions at our home.
What makes this House unique
What is truly unique about our 'home away from home' is the quiet solitude. During the busy summer months, other areas in Bear Lake can be wall-to-wall people, and we love our part of the lake, which is away from all of that. That being said, we're close to all of the fun activities that Bear Lake has to offer.

This was our third time staying at this location. We have stayed over the Thanksgiving weekend every other year and each time and it has been wonderful. Many find family memories have been created there that will stay with our family forever. It is a tradition we hope we can continue for many years unless our family outgrows the location.
We strongly recommend this to any family. The rooms are spacious with separate gathering rooms for adults and children. We currently have 24 in our family and we had plenty of room for all.
The home is very nice and looks as good now as it did four years ago for our first stay.
It's very easy to access right off the main road.
Thank you for your review. Our goal is to provide a home where family memories can be made. We enjoy having families back, and hope to see you again in the years ahead.
A wonderful property
So many incredible things about this place it would be hard to name them all. Very spacious, lots of extra bedding/kitchen items/games/ etc. for renters. The cherey ontop of a great house was the spectacular view to watch the sunset and the moonrise over the lake from the balcony. Highly recommend!
Great time at Bear Lake!
We loved the house, there was plenty of room. We really appreciated the sand toys and the shade tent that was available for our use! Grandkids were so very glad there was WiFi! Haha
Loved our time there
Wonderful location for familly reunion
The property is modern and well supplied with cooking utensils, a large grill for doing hamburgers, hotdogs, or steaks and even a portable firepit which can easily be used with a supply of firewood. We had 4 married children and one single son with grandchildren and found the home very suitable for our needs. Places visited were close- North Beach, Bloomington Lake, Minnetonka Cave, and Limber Pine Trail. We would like to return some time.
Rawhide Rendezvous gets its name from the early history of Bear Lake when many mountain men, including Jedediah Smith and Jim Bridger, met on the south shore of the lake with Native Americans to swap goods and stories. This is the origin of the Rocky Mountain Rendezvous, which continues to this day in mid-September. Hope you enjoy 'rendezvous-ing' with your family and friends at our home-away-from-home!
