Why Giuseppe Puglia chose Pisciotta
It all stems from our strong passion for travel and love for our origins, which have been expertly handed down from my father's family. The house, surrounded by centuries-old olive trees, presents itself to us no longer as the grandfather's house Peppe, with all its history imbued with sacrifices, traditions and links indissoluble with the territory, but as an opportunity to meet with the culture and the life of this small and uncontaminated village of Cilento. Thus begins the Villetta in the olive grove, between renovations respectful of its nature and that which surrounds it to offer its guests a real oasis of peace. An ideal place to reunite with the land where you can rediscover the changing seasons, the awakening of spring in a carnival of scents and colors, pick up the aromatic herbs of the well-kept garden waiting to dive into the succulent dishes, distinguish, in the silence of the hill, the sound of birds, in the outdoor shower framed by plants and the enchanting view of the sea, lie down in the evening on the terrace and admire the carpet of stars. Around a few kilometers separate it from the village and the marina of Pisciotta, to travel by car or, for the most passionate, on foot, in complete tranquility, meeting the cute wild animals of the national park and seeing through the fronds breathtaking views.

"The house is situated in a beautiful landscape above Pisciotta with high olive trees and its absolutely quiet except the cock in the morning. There is a fantastic terrace with seaview. The equipment of the house is very tasteful.
The owner and his father are very kind and obliging.
We enjoyed it very much and would like to come back."
Posto stupendo, vista incantevole villetta molto accogliente pulizia impeccabile.

Map
Pisciotta is an ancient medieval village situated on a hill which gently slopes to the sea. The origins of the name derived from Pixoctum which then became 'Pixocta', 'Pissocta' and finally 'Pisciotta'. Surrounded by centuries-old olive groves, the area enjoys a breathtaking view of the most beautiful coastline of the Cilento area. From the main square through characteristic alleys and stairways, you can walk to the highest part of the town, the 'Castle' (Palazzo Marchesale) from which to enjoy the beautiful sea view and then continue along the path (for pedestrians) to the mother church (SS. Peter and Paul). Ancient doorways and charming alleys will silently accompany you to the 'Pendino,' one of the most ancient parts of the town from where you can begin the walk to 'Marina di Pisciotta'. It is recommended to take the tourist route from the town of Pisciotta to the Marina, along a road surrounded by olive trees and the Mediterranean scrub. In just minutes you are at the port of Marina di Pisciotta.
'Marina di Pisciotta' is a typical fishing village where time seems to have come to a standstill with a well-equipped port, small and characteristic bars and one of the most beautiful beaches of the Cilento area. The attribution of the “Blue Flag” certifies that the Pisciotta beaches are among the most clean and beautiful in Italy. Marina di Pisciotta and its beaches can be easily reached by car from the “Cottage in the Olive Grove” in 5 minutes or so.
Completing the town of Pisciotta are the hamlets, Caprioli (bordering Palinuro) with its extraordinary sandy coast and Rodio, a very picturesque, small village perched on the hills which legend claims was originally a settlement of the Knights of Rhodes. From the “Cottage in the Olive Grove” it is easily reachable by foot offering a panoramic and thoroughly enjoyable walk.
On August 10, the town of Pisciotta celebrates its patron, Saint Aniello Abate. The festivities begin on June 9 and end on August 11. On September 8, the 'Madonna of Portosalvo' in Marina di Pisciotta is celebrated with an impressive procession by the sea.
