800 year old monastery doesn’t need to have 21st century rubbish and junk in the yard.
The room was clean and the shower facility was neat and clean. The photos were a little dated the entry area was very disappointing as was the area where the refrigerator was placed.
We were not permitted to access the kitchen or anywhere to make a coffee or tea. There was a microwave placed above the dirty refrigerator but no cups to make anything.
We had only booked two nights but could only stayed one.
The yard and garden was full of rubbish and junk which made the stay very uncomfortable.
Maybe not disappointing just quite concerned that this place came highly recommend!
Mr and Mrs Murray stay 1 night instead of 2 ..
When I awake the 1st morning at 7 AM for the breakfast, they had left the place without a word !
Live like local
4 of us had a wonderful 3 nights in that charming house, Christophe is very friendly and accommodating. House is clean and well maintained, Saignon is very charming. If you want to feel like part of history, this is a very good place for that.
Beautiful accomodation and meals!
My family stayed at l'Abbaye for 7 nights. It is clean and well furnished with beautiful, comfortable bedding in an interesting historic building. We had breakfast with beautiful homemade jams, fruit, yogurt, chocolate, coffee-anything we wanted. We had 5 dinners made by Christophe, our host. Each one was amazingly delicious! Christophe is accommodating, thoughtful and funny. He has a wealth of knowledge about the Luberon that he is happy to share. He was flexible with meal times, menus, laundry, etc. The garden is beautiful and full of art treasures and flowers. My children loved Christophe, his cats and playing in the garden. This property is located 5 minutes from Apt, which is a great city with every amenity. The countryside is beautiful and there is so much to do! We hiked the Colorado Rustrel, went horse back riding, visited many beautiful villages, Marseilles, Avignon, etc.
Calm and beauty
My husband and I spent a wonderful week at l'Abbaye with our two young children. Christophe was a warm and thoughtful host, and his property was more than we could have hoped for. Our children loved the garden and the surroundings and we enjoyed the lovely rooms and breakfast served every morning. We would highly recommend it to anyone looking to visit the region. Thanks again Christophe for the lovely stay!
Soul of the countryside
Our two-night stay with Christophe and his cat Kim in Le Luberon was a highlight of our five-week journey through Europe. Christophe was a wonderful host who spoiled us with scrumptious breakfasts and nurtured our yearning to connect with local culture. We felt immersed in the soul of the countryside. Our room was quite comfortable and very clean too.
