About this property

-Enjoy water views from our well appointed large back deck with Fire Pit and Weber BBQ for your use.
The entire upstairs has 3 bedrooms with 3 bathrooms for your group. Two Queen bedrooms and a Twin bedroom plus a Common Room, a very large well stocked kitchen, a cozy enclosed front porch for a quiet read or a glass of wine, and the large back deck.
Outside there is croquet, or available is work-out equipment of exercise ball, weights, and a step.
We love to share our knowledge of unique spots to visit
in our area, and to make your holiday a special adventure. There are some great spots off the usual radar that should not be missed.
We allow a pet to stay only if it is trained. Please contact with details when booking.
We live on the main floor, away from our guests as we
have our own separated living quarters.
We do share the kitchen at times but keep out of the way. Breakfast each day is provided by Judie- your host and chef. Breakfast is healthy and homemade, with fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereals, bran-blueberry muffin, homemade bread, French press coffee, tea, and juice.
No extra cost.
The sunny Common Room, is equipped with games, a 40 inch smart TV with sports, Prime and Netflix.
.. We are approximately 10 km south of Digby. Nearby is whale watching, Bear River artist community, Gilbert Cove Lighthouse, Savary Park with water access.
ADDED ACTIVITY for families- Down the road, there is Pony rides, and FEED the HORSES a SNACK- feed the friendly horses, carrots or blueberries- their treat-
these horses are very gentle, lovely creatures. Cost is 10 dollars toward their keep
PONY RIDES is 20 dollars including feeding the horses.
Judie can recommend local restaurants, attractions, and places to see in the area.
Len and Judie enjoy meeting new people being ex- restauranteurs. Enjoy our artistic, beautiful home.

Home away from home

Judie and Len were amazing hosts. She always knew what to recommend in the area we were going to explore and he always had great stories to tell. Our family enjoyed their company and accommodations and our stay truly felt like a home away from home. Our stay here enhanced our trip to Nova Scotia and would definitely book again. Hospitality Plus !

Upon arrival at Casa Moana , we were met at the door with smiling face and warm welcome .lovely older home with delightful ambience. Home was convenient to areas we wanted to visit. A pleasant surprise was an invitation to fire pit social. Can’t find words to properly describe our stay . Judie is a Super Super Hostess, knowledgeable of area and excellent guidance for best places to go. . House is very clean and comfortable . We would stay there again ,

Very pleasant stay

Judy and Lenn are awesome!

Two nights in such a quiet and cozy home. Decorated with maritime charm and not a detail was missed. Lovely hot shower, hot tea and Judy’s bran muffins made a great start to the morning. Lenn enjoyed sharing stories over the breakfast table while Judy met our needs to a T! I slept better than I do at home! We were all happy with our stay and would definitely come back. I am originally from Toronto. After Len and I were married we lived in New Zealand for 8 years. Upon coming back we moved to Cambridge, Ontario and set up a restaurant-pub called The Golden Kiwi.
We love meeting new people and miss that after we sold the pub. I provide home cooked healthy breakfast each morning. As a chef, everything is made from scratch, from the bran blueberry muffins, to homemade, bread, granola, fresh fruit and yoghurt, and of course fresh ground coffee.

Casa Moana has great character and is in a lovely spot over looking St. Mary`s Bay, Bay of Fundy. Enjoy the large deck with fire pit, BBQ for your use, and views of the bay.

Why they chose this property

This property is close by to Digby and there is much to do in the vicinity. Nearby is Bear River- the artist community with high quality art galleries, cafe, coffee shop and wineries; Savary Park has ocean access; Gilberts Cove has a quaint Lighthouse; up the road is a well known quilt shop, and a local brewery ( Lazy Bear ) in Smiths Cove.
Annapolis Royal is a 30 minute drive where there is much to see- the Heritage Gardens, 2 forts- Fort Anne, and Fort Royal; a brewery, cafes, coffee shops, art galleries and various shops.
Of course there is whale watching at Digby Neck which is a 45 minute drive to Freeport, then either one or two 5 minute ferry rides to Long Island and Brier Island. Long Island has Balancing Rock, a great hike.
Digby has the harbour, museum, restaurants, pub, shops, etc.
South of us there is the Acadia shores with quaint villages dotted along the coast on old Highway 1.
Our house is nicely decorated and very comfortable with a large back deck for sunset viewing and BBQing, or having a leisurely drink around the Fire Pit.

What makes this property unique

Our house has tons of character with the hidden alcoves to the French doors that look out to the water view, to the large maples along the back border, the many fruit trees and large bushes.
We have a large kitchen that is well stocked with pots and pans, a propane stove, etc. Breakfast is served in the sunny kitchen which over looks the water view.
There is Horse back riding available down the road and owners encourage feeding the horses ( carrots or blueberries).
There is a fee for both and I am happy to arrange either feeding and or riding.
