About Chris Roland
What can I say, I'm very personable, easy going and I enjoy socializing with friends, old and new. I'm a filmmaker based in Cape Town - you probably know a couple of my films. I produce, write and direct films, TV series and commercials. I'm also a Transformational Teacher, helping individuals, companies, and organizations be better for the greater good, an old passion that recently took on a new form and direction. I have travelled extensively, in over 60 countries. I'm an American citizen and have been living in South Africa since 1995. I have an extensive knowledge of South Africa, much of it gained from the films I have made here, and I can share some of the lesser know places to visit and activities to try out, as well as the more popular destinations and activities. I'm a wine lover with a fairly good knowledge of South African wines and wineries. I look forward to hosting you, perhaps share a glass of South African wine and get you started towards an amazing visit in beautiful Cape Town!

Why Chris Roland chose Hout Bay
There are many aspects of our holiday house that are Unique, hence the name. To begin with, the house is in a peaceful and lushly vegetated area, with hiking right outside the gate, and sits on a half acre with a beautiful garden, pool, large decks and a fire pit, and is very secure. The house is spacious, with three split levels, and the bedrooms and bathrooms are all in their own private wing of the house, and each bedroom has an exterior door leading to the garden and pool. The ethnic decorations and styling in the living areas make for a cozy atmosphere, with bathrooms and bedrooms reflecting a more modern clean style. The house and property layout is perfect for holiday relaxing and entertaining. You might not want to leave the house!
What makes this house unique
Unique is located in Hout Bay, which is central to the Cape's most popular destinations. The beaches and wineries are 5 - 10 minutes away, including the Cape's oldest winery, Groote Constantia. The popular Camps Bay is 15 minutes away, and downtown Cape Town, Table Mountain, and V&A Waterfront are a 20 - 30 minute drive. In the other direction, Cape Point is about 40 - 50 minutes, as is Simonstown where the famous penguins can be viewed. Hout Bay is also unique because everything you need is close by, great restaurants, food shops, banks, and petrol stations, all within minutes with no traffic, and easy parking. A short walk down the street from the house is a farm stall cafe where guests can enjoy a fresh breakfast and lunch - and if you have kids, they will love the animals they can pet and the playground. And finally, at the end of the block is World of Birds, the largest bird sanctuary in the Southern hemisphere.
