About this property

October dates added with lower rates! Great 2BR 2BA near Fairplay, Buena Vista

Beautiful 2BR/2Bath Cabin/Home that sleeps 6 (7max) comfortably in its custom built 1,350 sq'. Our Home expresses real wood and stone as much as possible throughout. Kitchen comes fully loaded all you need is to bring your groceries. Both baths and bedrooms are loaded as well. Bedrooms each have their own HDTV w/Satellite, Ceiling Fans and of course free WiFi.

Added to all the great things the cabin will give you our location makes the outdoors possible with activities like rafting, off road riding, biking, hiking, horseback riding, skiing, snowshoeing and literally dozens of other activities possible! Cabins location gets you
-Buena Vista (35min/22mi) Some of the Best White Water Rafting that exists with more outfitters and tours than you could ever use.
-Fairplay (35min/30mi) To the Famous South Park and Old Town.
-Salida (60min/44mi) Downtown is a great experience and you always get great views of the Kayak course that goes right through it.
-Breckenridge (60min/52mi) One of the classic Colorado Destinations.
-Colorado Springs (90min/75mi) Everything you could possibly need for shopping or other needs. Along the way to the Springs from the cabin you get Pikes Peak, The Adobe Cliff Dwellings, Garden of the Gods and many other attractions packed into that 75 miles. All of these great locations and more then a quick and easy trip back to the cabin.

Spending the day relaxing after big adventures is also VERY possible with the cabin. It sits on top of a 2.5 acre hill over half of which is covered with a beautiful Aspen Grove. A herd of deer has made its home in the grove. They run in a pattern from the grove in the morning down the hill. In the afternoon they come back up the hill in front of the house and you can just sit and watch the whole herd, Fawns included, as they graze slowly just feet from the cabin. Want to take a few minute trip you get options like the covered picnic area less than a mile down the road. With a large dog run attached to it you can have relaxing events that even the furry members of the family get to enjoy.

The pictures show the 15' high glass prow that offers amazing views of some of Colorado’s most impressive peaks. The Great Room and all of its offshoots walls and the ceiling are covered in real Knotty Pine. Put that together with the hardwood floors, custom stone fireplace, 15' glass prow and the cabin gives you rustic peace and allows you to recharge the batteries for the next big adventure. Also remember there is NO chance that you won't see a beautiful sunset on the Western Peaks every single afternoon from the great room or the deck at the front of the house.

Beautiful place in Colorado
The huge windows perfectly frame the amazing view. We watched storms roll in and beautiful sunsets. The porch is crazy with hummingbirds zooming all around. Comfortable beds and couches. We had a great time.

Nice place but overwhelming smell of cigarette smoke
Finally getting around to adding this review. Checked into the house and noticed an overwhelming smell of cigarette smoke coming from one of the bedrooms. Decided to try and tough it out for a night but ended up leaving early the next morning as we felt it was unsafe for our child due to the smell. Owner mentioned they don't smoke and nobody had been at the property but the cigarettes in the ash tray outside said otherwise. Owner still charged me almost $400 for the single night and cleaning fee despite being there less than 24 hours and leaving on account of the smell. The property was nice and we wish we could have stayed but this situation could have been handled better by the owner. Beware.

Beautiful mountain retreat
If you enjoy peace and quiet in the mountains this is the place for you. The cabin has all of the essentials. It’s very well kept and was ideal for me and some family. The location was perfect as my cousins, uncle and I were there to fly fish the Arkansas River and the Dream Stream.

Originally from Alabama but have now been in Colorado for almost 40 years. Retired and move all around visiting family and friends but still love that cabin on the hill.

Why they chose this property

A beautiful piece of land to build a mountain cabin on. So the land was purchased over 13 years ago and the house was built just 7 years ago with every single item being hand picked and designed by me and my husband.

What makes this property unique

Standing on the deck in the morning with a cup of coffee or juice and watching the light hit the faces of all the Western mountains.

Walking through the Aspen Grove listening to the rustling of the leaves and the amazing sweet smell of the grove.

While on your walk in the Aspens its normal for you to have to freeze and stand still and quite so you can watch the local deer herd that have made our Aspen grove their home. They start coming out from underneath the pines, that litter the grove, to make their morning move. Us and all of the other locals have always treated them well so If your quite and still they will just look at you and continue on their routine like your just another tree in the grove.

Sitting in the Great Room watching the flickering flames in the fireplace built of the custom stone that we personally selected.

And most of all watching those beautiful sunsets. It is no accident the the prow of the house faces the west allowing you to see those sunsets clearly everyday. Now you get to enjoy our careful planning and see them for yourself. Hold that special persons hand as you both watch the sun turn into a million different colors as it slides along the Western Range. The sun and the colors will start at the left side of the deck and finally go behind the last peak on the decks right side. That sunset has brought many out to stand on the deck deck to JUST watch ;)
