The villa is perfectly located for discovering Rio and its many attractions. Many bus lines go to any direction, you can reach Copacabana in 15 minutes by bus, the Metro is only 15' by foot and you get to both airports and the main Station in around 15-25' with an Uber (depending on traffic). Many areas of the center, Lapa and Santa Teresa can be reached walking.
We are just down the street from Largo das Neves, Santa Teresa. This former final station of the bondinho is inhabited by local families and many expats, which gather in the evening to have a beer and some small talk. On this small square alone there are 4 restaurants.
From here it's a 15 minutes stroll through this beautiful neighbourhood to get to the center of Santa Teresa and all it's food and shopping options.
You can also walk to the centre to visit the many sights there or do some shopping or, at the evening walk to Lapa. To get back at night we always recommend getting an Uber.
Santa Teresa is as safe as any other neighbourhood in Rio de Janeiro. As in any big city it is necessary to move with common sense.

Hi, I am Juju from Germany and my Husband is Ariel, from Argentina. We are living in Rio de Janeiro since 2017 and in this house since 2018. We rented it through Airbnb for some friends that visited for carnival and fell in love with it, so we decided to live here long-term. Since 2019 we started renting the upper loft to guests from around the world. We love to know our guests and share a beer (or two). We both speak English, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese fluently. Juju also speaks German and some French. So we can have a great time together, if You want to. We try to live a sustainable life. We reduce, reuse and recycle, we have a compost and we are vegans. Of course you don't have to feel obliged to adopt any of these ways but we appreciate our guests efforts to have a low ecological impact while they stay at our house. Why Juju chose Santa Teresa
This Villa has a very good vibe, a great view, amazing outside areas and a huge Mango tree. Only it needed a lot of love. We really like the awesome high ceilings in the lofts which give the inside areas a airy feel and we enjoy having a tranquil place in the middle of the city, where we can hide away from the frenzies out there. Also the location is just great with a lot of buses going everywhere and the tunnel de Santa Barbara connecting us to the south zone of the city in no time. It's just the best combination of nature and hide-away and being in the middle of the city.
