A peach of a spot in Southern California
A Redondo Beach vacation rental is the perfect choice for enjoying some of Southern California's finest beaches as well as the state’s many visitor attractions. Just 40 minutes from Disneyland, Redondo Beach is one of the 3 Beach Cities – Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, and Redondo Beach – which make up Los Angeles’ South Bay. Take a vacation rental here to enjoy the best in beachfront living, and great local shopping and dining, on the doorstep of Los Angeles.
Redondo Beach’s oceanfront arts scene
Head to the city’s municipal pier – which fans of classic show The OC may recognize – to enjoy the oceanfront vistas, and the great fishing from this uniquely shaped triangular pier. For something a little more cultural, the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center is a highlight of the South Bay arts scene, presenting Broadway-quality musical theater and performances by the Los Angeles Ballet. Or, if you are staying in your Redondo Beach vacation rental with kids, Veteran’s Park has a playground and a weekly food market to explore.
Year-round fun at Redondo Beach
Redondo Beach’s year-round temperate climate means there’s always something happening in this vibrant oceanfront city. Stay at a Redondo Beach vacation rental in springtime and you can enjoy one of Southern California's longest-running kite festivals. Come summer, you can enjoy live music as part of Redondo Beach’s Pier Concerts series, outdoor movies on the Boardwalk at Redondo Beach Pier, or the South Bay Beach Cities’ International Surf Festival in August. Fall brings one of the year’s culinary highlights: the Redondo Beach Lobster festival, while December through March is the best time of year for whale watching.
Explore beyond Redondo Beach
Redondo Beach boasts a small science center dedicated to marine conservation and education programs, operated by LA Conservation Corps. Here, you can get up close with the marine animals, and kids will delight in the facts provided by the well-informed staff. Meanwhile, hikers and bikers are served by the Marvin Braude Bike Trail, dubbed the Strand, which runs through Redondo Beach up to Will Rogers State Beach to the north of the bay. For more serious trails, head to Topanga State Park in the cliffs and canyons of the Santa Monica Mountains, 40 minutes’ drive north. Here, you’ll find miles of trails through open grassland and shady oaks – most affording spectacular views of the shimmering Pacific Ocean.
