One of the oldest colonial towns in Maryland
Located in Dorchester Country, Cambridge is one of the largest towns on the Eastern Shore in Maryland. Once inhabited by the Choptank Indians, the town was founded in the late 17th century by English colonists who used the surrounded land to grow tobacco. For such a small place, it has a surprisingly large number of famous residents including Annie Oakley, Harriet Tubman, and a former president of Liberia.
