Go glam Parisian-style in this swanky suburb
Boulogne-Billancourt is a suburb of Paris, just southwest of the 15th arrondissement (district). The Seine River wraps around the area, giving beautiful river views to many Boulogne-Billancourt vacation rentals. A perk of Boulogne is the adjacent park, Bois de Boulogne, which is 1 of the largest green spaces in Paris. The center of Paris—generally marked at the Notre Dame Cathedral, is about 6 miles away, and here's a little fact about it: Hitler ordered Paris to be destroyed during WWII, which, thankfully, his generals ignored.
The Palace of Versaille will catch your eye
If you're laying low and sticking around the 'burbs, Boulogne itself has the Albert Kahn Museum and Gardens, and Musee Belmondo, a sculpture garden. Next to Boulogne you'll find the "left lung" of Paris, the sprawling Bois de Boulonge park that is full of sights and activities. And then, get ready to do some ogling at the magnificent Palace of Versailles and the world's most famous avenue, the Champs Elysee. They're both a quick 7 miles from most Boulogne-Billancourt vacation rentals.
Paris, the City of Lights, is also true in this suburb
If you can't get enough of Christmastime, Boulogne-Billancourt is a dazzling place to be during the winter holidays. The streets and structures are illuminated with Christmas lights and decor, and there's a festive December market. And for all times of year, there's a sizeable mall, cute French eateries, and several golf courses, as well as many parks. The biggest park, Bois de Boulogne, is twice the size of NYC's Central Park, and is packed with gardens and lakes, plus a horse-racing track, an amusement park, and a tennis stadium.
Cry me a river view (or 2) in beautiful Boulogne
There are 2 big bonuses with many Boulogne-Billancourt vacation rentals—river views and the gorgeous green landscape. The Seine River forms a 'U' around Boulogne, and that, plus the generally flat landscape of Paris, leaves ample areas from which to admire the river. Bois de Boulogne, the second-largest park in Paris, is next to this suburb (in fact, it's about twice the size of the suburb) so you can get back to nature and take a break from the urban scene.
